Salut! Je m’appelle rowland.
Je suis fatigué. J’ai trop de travail!
Bwiset!
Damn. sheeeet. After abstaining from the allure of koobecaf by using the power bestowed upon my mouse – that is, the wonderful ability to click the “deactivate” link – I am back once more (of course using my mouse’s wonderful ability to click the “reactivate” link). I feel that feeling of unsuccessfulness knowing that I can’t live without a social networking site that is a million times better than retsdneirf – because there are fewer Filipinos online and no one can demonize his or her profile with annoying glitters and annoying songs and annoying htmls and annoying backgrounds – for at least a month.

It is frustrating when you keep on typing www.facebook.com, and then clicking the ENTER button, and then waiting for the page to load, and then realizing the realization of my facebooklessness gradually resounding in my head. But koobecaf is also a million times worse than retsdneirf because it shows no mercy when we talk about privacy. But, with the usual lightning-thunder brain delay — or thunder-lightning brain delay, depending on the personal perspective you take and the social paradigm you glorify — I actually realized that koobecaf has always offered privacy settings. Duh.

So, this time, I finally decided to adjust my privacy and account settings so as not to create an exorbitance of facebook links in your homepage that will direct you towards my wall, my photo gallery, my status, my applications, or my notes – in short, my koobecaf.

hey! i found ur blog through google and i’m applying to your school under the scholarship thing. ya i’m going for the interview like.. tomorrow. what do you think about your school and the IB? Stressful? how are your classmates? do you think that the school fees are worth the teaching? and how’s the general attitude and stuff. thanks so much cos i don’t really know much about your school and i need to make a desicion soon, if not i’m gonna dieeee.
thank you once again. you make my day. (cos i found the IB calendar thing here. haha)
haha. thanks for dropping by (:
firstly, before i say anything, i would want to let you know that i will be biased because i will base it on personal experiences as i am a foreign scholar in the school.
i think the school is very good, it caters very well to the students, and I personally think that majority of the students enjoy being in school.
Stressful, yes, especially in IB. Well, it’s IB, of course it’s stressful. haha. I mean, if you want to do A levels in a junior college instead, i can say it’s just as stressful, you’re just taking a “different” route (but i think IB’s a better route haha)
Well, I must say that the school has partly something to do with the stress levels – since the school encourages active participation in both academic and extra-curricular activities – but the real stress comes from the IB course itself. The teachers are very generous in giving students work to do, so you’ll find yourself pretty occupied with school stuff throughout the year. School fees, expensive but worth it, i suppose (i don’t really know ‘coz i don’t pay school fees, haha)
You see, if you really wanna do the IB, and if you’re pretty sure that you wanna go to a decent IB school, then IB will be a real challenge. And i personally believe that, although young as a school sjii is, it has really adhered to the IB ideals, so.. yup! it’s a concoction of loads of fun and loads of work. haha
But don’t get me wrong – we’re not a nerdy school where everyone’s got no life aside from studying. We have many weekly extra-curricular activities, and trips and excursions. I just recently came back from Thailand for an overseas challenge week, where we had to survive on our own for a week and do challenges and community services in small groups, without any teacher/parent/guardian. And we all did it and came back home safely with memories to cherish for a lifetime. Sounds fun, right?
It’s not a Singapore local school where it’s all rigid and boring. It’s an international school so it’s kinda more open and kind to everyone else, regardless of who you are or where you’re from.
hope you can make up your mind soon. (:
